He began his practice in Aikido under the instruction of Master Hirokazu Kobayashi from 1968, until his passing in 1998.

He is one of the most important and oldest students of Master Hirokazu Kobayashi. The 30 years that he was at his side strengthened the Master's trust in this disciple.

Yabuuchi Shihan continues the style of his teacher, Kobayashi Shihan. Throughout his life, he has continued teaching aikido inside and outside of Japan. As of 2016, he founded the Aikido Yamato Buikukai organization, officially recognized under the Aikikai Hombu

Today there are several groups that have received the teachings of Shihan Hirokazu Kobayashi, especially in Europe and have created their own independent organizations; but "Osaka Buikukai" is the only association that has received official recognition from master Hirokazu Kobayashi and the Aikikai (Aikido World Headquarters in Japan).

He annually conducts tours and seminars in various countries in Europe, Japan, Tahiti, New Caledonia, New Zealand, and Panama.

In October 2016, he passed it over to the next generation and founded the Yamato Buikukai Association, which receives direct recognition from Aikikai Hombu (Aikido World Headquarters in Japan).

His main desire is that the idea of ​​Aikido "Harmony of the Spirit" be taken care of: That the students be kind and sincere with their classmates and that they practice every day with serenity and dedication.


1968

He became a disciple of Aikido Osaka Hombu (now Osaka Buikukai), led by Hirokazu Kobayashi Shihan (8th Dan Aikikai)

1970

He opened a new dojo in Nara and taught Aikido.

1972

He traveled to Europe to teach Aikido training for 6 months.

1998

Hirokazu Kobayashi Shihan, head of Osaka Buikukai, passed away at the age of 69. Kisshomaru Ueshiba Doshu granted the continuity of Osaka Buikukai with Jiro Kimura Shihan as the new president and Hirotoshi Yabuuchi Shihan as the new vice president and secretary. Led by the will of Hirokazu Kobayashi Shihan, he traveled to foreign dojos to provide Aikido training with Kimura Shihan.

2010

He established the Nara Prefectural Aikido Federation as the Director of the federation. (He is currently President of the federation).

2016

Aikikai Hombu authorized the establishment of Yamato Buikukai. Yamato Buikukai separates and becomes independent from Osaka Buikukai.

2020

He received the Recognition of the Consul General of the Embassy of Japan in Panama.

Workshops and Seminars Abroad

As Chairman of the Osaka Aiki Kensankai Executive Committee of Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba, he has organized various events, seminars and workshops with the Nara Prefectural Aikido Federation.
